Battery-run rickshaw and easy bike drivers staged demonstrations in the capital's Rampura area for the 2nd consecutive day halting vehicular movement on both sides of the road.

They started the demo around 9:45am near the Better Life Hospital for the second day on Monday.

Rampura Police Station OC Md Moshiur Rahman said the drivers took to the street in the morning, causing a huge tailback in the area.

Additional police have been deployed to avert any untoward situation, he added.

Earlier on Sunday, the protesters blocked Mirpur 10, 11, and 12 protesting the ongoing crackdown against their vehicles. They set fire to a police box in the Kalshi area.
