Mumtarin Ferdous Doreen, daughter of Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar, who was killed in Kolkata, has demanded capital punishment for those involved in her father’s murder.
“Who killed my father and why? I want to see them. I want capital punishment of the killers,” Doreen made the call while talking to reporters at the DB office on Mintoo Road in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Bangladeshi people were involved in the murder of Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata, Home Minister Asaduzzman Khan Kamal said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, while talking to the newsmen, Mohammad Harun or Rashid, additional commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said that a group of local criminals has killed Azim.
The daughter of the victim will lodge a case in this connection with Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station, he said.
The body of Anwarul Azim was recovered from Kolkata eight days after his missing in India.
Anwarul Azim went to India through Darshana border on 12 May and he was in contact with the family till 14 May.
However, there was no information regarding his whereabouts since 16 May.
