DHAKA: Police detained a person for raping a seven-year old girl in Lalbag area in the city on Friday.

The arrested culprit is Saleh Ahmed, 50, a tea stall owner of the area.

Lalbag Thana Sub-Inspector Rajan Chandra Pal told banlanews that Saleh assaulted the girl and raped her while she was walking to a medicine store on Thursday evening.    

“Later, the critically injured victim was rushed to One Stop Medical Centre (OCC) at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”

A rape case was filed with Lalbag Thana spotting Saleh as prime accused, he added.
