JAMALPUR: A youth was killed and four others were injured in a road accident in Jhenai Bridge area under Melandah upazila of the district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Babul Mia, 40, hailed from Rambhodra village under Islampur upazila of the district.

Witnesses said an auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a rashly driven pick-up van in the area around 8:00pm, leaving Babul dead on the spot and four other passengers of the auto-rickshaw injured critically.

However, the injured were rushed to Jamalpur General Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Melandah police station Billal Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
