US for stopping violence against minority

DHAKA: United States called on all parties in Bangladesh to stop committing further violence and refrain from supporting violence – especially against minority communities – inflaming rhetoric, and intimidation.

US state department spokesperson Jen Psaki came up with the urge in its daily press briefing on January 17.

She also said, “Violence is not an acceptable element of the political process.”

Jen Psaki also said, “Bangladesh’s political leadership and those who aspire to lead must do everything in their power to ensure law and order, and refrain from supporting violence – especially against minority communities – inflaming rhetoric, and intimidation.”

The US also expressed its disappointment over recent incidents of violence and condemned that in the strongest terms, the violence from all quarters that continues to mark the prevailing political impasse.
