The prices of Sonali chicken and onions have witnessed hike over the course of a week in the Dhaka’s market.
On the other hand price of the hilsa fish has dropped slightly due to growth in production.
The information has been observed after visiting the capital's Shewrapara and Taltala markets on Friday (May 31).
However, the prices of vegetables in the markets this week have decreased slightly compared to previous weeks but price of chili soared to Tk 240.
After visiting these markets, it was learned that local onions are being sold at Tk 80 per kg with an increase of Tk 10.
Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 210 per kg today, Sonali chicken increased by Tk 30 to Tk 380 per kg, Sonali hybrid increased by 20 taka to 350 taka, local chicken is being sold at Tk 680 to Tk 700 per kg, layer chicken at Tk 340 and white layer at Tk 320.
The retail price of summer vegetables has gone up slightly.
Kachurmukhi Tk 100, brinjal Tk 50 to 60, bitter gourd 60 taka, potal 50 taka, gourd 40 to 50 taka, papaya at Tk 60 per kg, barbati at 80 taka, cucumber are being sold at 60 taka.
In the markets, radishes are being sold at Tk 50 per kg, cauliflower at Tk 40 to Tk 50 a piece, cabbage at Tk 40 to Tk 50 a piece, broccoli at Tk 40 a piece, ripe tomatoes at Tk 70 to Tk 80 and carrots at Tk 80 per kg.
Red vegetables are sold at Tk 15, gourd vegetables at Tk 40, radish at Tk 15, spinach at Tk 15 to Tk 20, Kalmi vegetables at Tk 10.
Local onion is being sold at Tk 70 per kg and potato at Tk 55 per kg in the markets.
In these markets, lemon (per hali) is being sold at Tk 10 to Tk 40, coriander leaves at Tk 300 to Tk 350 per kg, banana at Tk 40 per kg, pumpkin at Tk 40 to Tk 50 and green chillies at Tk 220 to Tk 240 per kg.
The meat traders selling Beef at Tk 650 to Tk 780 per kg, beef liver at Tk 780, beef head at Tk 450, beef leg at Tk 350 to Tk 400 and goat meat at Tk 1050-1100 per kg.
A dozen red eggs are being sold at Tk 150, duck eggs at Tk 200, local chicken eggs at Tk 85.
The price of hilsa fish has decreased slightly this week due to increased production. Hilsa fish weighing 500 grams is being sold at 800 to 900 taka per kg and 700 to 800 gram fish is being sold at 1400 taka.
Prices of the pulses remained unchanged, local and imported lentil 150 taka, imported coarse pulse 120 taka, gram pulse 130 taka, anchor pulse 90 taka per kg. In these markets, ginger is being sold at Tk 240 to Tk 260 and garlic at Tk 220 to Tk 240.
