Unidentified miscreants carried out an attack on the residence of Bangabir Abdul Kader Siddique Bir Uttam, president of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, in Tangail early Saturday.

The incident took place around 1 am at his house, ‘Sonar Bangla.’

According to the house caretaker, Kader Siddiqui was asleep on the second floor when 10–15 attackers threw bricks and stones at the residence. They then climbed over the gate using a ladder and entered the compound, vandalizing two vehicles.

Locals rushed to the scene, prompting the attackers to flee.

Tangail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tanvir Ahmed said police have launched an investigation into the incident and assured that those involved will be identified and brought to justice soon.
