DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday warned BNP-Jamaat that they would have to shun militant and terrorist activities if they want to do politics in Bangladesh.
“BNP-Jamaat will have to shun militant and terrorist activities if they want to do politics and to walk through in the ongoing democratic process of the country,” she said.
The ruling Awami League came up with the forewarning while addressing a meeting of Awami League Central Working Committee at her official residence Ganobhaban in the evening.
She said, “The first duty of the incumbent government is to uproot terrorism from the country.”
Sheikh Hasina added: “None can save the militants and terrorists, whoever the patrons are, whichever powers stand beside them.”
Regarding terrorist activisms throughout the country, she said, “The government is doing what is necessary, and if indispensable it will be even tougher.”
