Md Siam Hossain, a key suspect in MP Anwarul Azim Anar murder case, has been arrested in Nepal.

Nepalese police arrested Siam Hossain in Kathmandu on Thursday, May 30.

Meanwhile, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police left Dhaka for Nepal this morning as part of the investigation to find out those involved in the Jhenidah-4 constituency MP murder.

A four-member team led by DB chief and Additional Commissioner Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid went to Nepal this morning.

Before leaving Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, DB Chief Harun said, "The arrested accused provided us with some secret information; those will be cross-checked. We have heard that the main planner, Shaheen's associate Siam, was arrested in Nepal. There is a possibility that other accused may also go to Nepal. Considering all these, we are going to Nepal."

Akteruzzaman Shahin, identified by police as the mastermind behind the murder, travelled from Dhaka to Kathmandu via Delhi on May 20. He then went to Dubai before returning to the US.

Siam, who is from Borhanuddin in Bhola, is reportedly one of Shahin's aides, according to sources involved in the investigation.

Additionally, Shimul Bhuiyan, his nephew Tanvir Bhuiyan, and Shilasti Rahman have been placed on a five-day remand following an earlier eight-day remand, as ordered by Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court magistrate Shanto Islam Mallik on Friday, May 31.
