A court in Narsingdi today (June 2) sentenced a youth named Jahangir to life imprisonment for killing his lady friend on 2022. 

The order was issued by the Narsingdi extra district and session judge court judge ANM Ilyas this afternoon. 

According to case statement, Jahangir had affair with an office (located in Targaon village of Palash) cook name Rita Begum. On 7 October, 2022, the victim pressurized the convict for marriage when they were in an office room. At that time, Jahangir stabbed Rita to death and fled the scene. 

Later, the victim’s brother filed a case as plaintiff.

After that, based on police report and 15 testimonials court convicted Jahangir and ordered him life imprisonment.

The lawyer for the state is Advocate Khandaker Halim confirmed the matter.
