The government Monday (June 2) fixed the rawhide price of the sacrificial animal.

The new price of the hide was announced in the presence of State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu in the Ministry of Commerce meeting room.

At this time, Commerce Secretary Moha Salim Uddin, related ministries and businessmen were present.

According to the ministry's decision, this time, the price of salted cow hide of sacrificial animals has been increased by Tk 5 compared to last year, and the price of goat hide has been increased by Tk 5 and female goat hide has been increased by Tk 6.

Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather Goods and Footwear Exporters Association President Mohiuddin Ahmed Mahin said the price of salted cowhide is fixed at Tk 55 to Tk 60 per square foot in Dhaka and Tk 55 to Tk 55 outside Dhaka.

Besides, the price of goat salted hide has been fixed at Tk 20 to Tk 25 and female goat hide at Tk 18 to Tk 20, he said.

Besides, cow hides in Dhaka will not be bought below Tk 1200 per piece and hides outside Dhaka will not be bought below Tk 1000, he added.
