Two brothers were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Chauddagram upazila in Cumilla on Tuesday (June 4).

The deceased were identified as truck driver Md Sagar and his assistant Belal Hossain, sons of Ashraful Islam, hailed from Baragram village in Kurigram's Rajarhat.

According to locals, a Dhaka-bound covered van was suddenly out of service near Chupua area of Chauddagram upazila in Cumilla. When Sagar and Belal were trying to restart their covered van, another covered van then hit it from behind, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

Anwarul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Miyabazar Highway Police confirming the matter said on information, police recovered the bodies from the scene,. 

The bodies of siblings would be handed over to their family after completing the legal procedures, he added.
