Two persons were killed in a road accident in Tangail's Ghatail upazila this morning (June 13).

The accident happened around 8:30 am in Kadamtali area under the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Jewel and Badsha. The details of the dead could not be known immediately.

Ghatail Police Station officer-in-charge Abu Salam Mia confirmed the matter.

He said the two were going to Ghatail riding on a motorcycle in the morning. On the way, a Dhaka-bound covered van hit their motorcycle in that area leaving the due dead on the spot, he also said.

The covered van was seized, but the driver fled the scene, the OC added.
