UN Chief mourns death of BD peacekeeper

DHAKA: UN Secretary-General Ban-ki-moon mourned the passing of Bangladeshi peacekeeper Lieutenant Colonel Tauhid-Ul-Mulok.

Ban-ki-Moon expressed his deep shock through a letter to Bangladesh Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in New York Dr AK Abdul Momen.

In the condolence message, the UN chief said that it is really praiseworthy that facing life risk, Bangladeshi peacekeepers are a devoted to their duties.

Earlier, Tauhid-Ul-Mulok was injured in a road accident on December 28, 2013 and he breathed his last on January 8, at Johannesburg Milk Park Hospital in South Africa.
