RMG workers-cop clash hurt 20

SAVAR, DHAKA: At least 20 readymade garment workers were injured on Wednesday in a clash with police in
Hemayetpur area of Savar demanding due salaries and reopen the closed factory.

The injured workers were given first aid in various local hospitals.

Witnesses said that the workers of Fa Apparels limited put blockade on Dhaka-Aricha highway at around 8:30am demanding due salaries and reopen shut factories.

On information, industrial police rushed to the spot and charged baton to disperse the agitated workers, leaving 20 workers injured.

Confirming the matter, Ashulia Industrial Police Director Mostafijur Rahman told banglanews, “Additional police forces were deployed in the area to avoid untoward situation.”
