Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Tuesday said Qatar has express its interest to recruit 725 members of the Bangladesh Army for various duties.
He disclosed the information while talking to journalists in Doha, where a high-level Bangladeshi delegation is currently visiting to attend the Arthona Summit, led by Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
The recruitment process is expected to begin within the next two months, said CA’s press secretary.
Shafiqul Alam said that Bangladeshi army personnel have been working in Kuwait for a long time, and now Qatar also wants to regularly take soldiers from Bangladesh.
Qatar will take 725 soldiers every three years, and efforts are underway to increase the number, he added.
The Chief Adviser left for Qatar on Monday for a four-day official visit to attend the summit.
