Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) has arrested Nannu, one of the key suspects in the murder of scrap trader Sohag in front of Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (Mitford) in Old Dhaka.

He was detained in Narayanganj’s Bandar area around 1am on Tuesday (July 15).

RAB-10 Commanding Officer Md Kamruzzaman confirmed the matter. 

He said that RAB-11 handed over Nannu to their custody for further action.

According to investigators, Nannu is one of four attackers who struck Sohag with stones to ensure his death.

Last Wednesday, Sohag, also known as Lal Chand, was brutally hacked and beaten with stones in broad daylight following a dispute. 

The next day, widespread outrage followed the killing, and Sohag’s sister filed a case at Kotwali Police Station, naming 19 people as accused.
