Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday (April 29) said the country is dreaming of building a just and discrimination-free democratic Bangladesh, which he described as a vision for a "Second Bangladesh."
He made the remarks while addressing the inauguration and medal awarding ceremony of Police Week 2025 at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital.
“The July uprising has given us that opportunity,” he said, underscoring that Bangladesh is now rising as a peaceful and prosperous country on the global stage and will continue to do so.
“The role of Bangladesh Police in fulfilling this dream is very important,” Yunus said.
He said that the world measures a country's level of civilization by observing how the police work and how they interact with people.
“We want to reach the highest level of civilization, and you—members of the police force—are the driving force behind that goal,” he added.
