The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has instructed inland river ports to hoist cautionary signal number one as rain and thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are expected across several regions.

According to a bulletin issued on Tuesday (May 13), the warning will remain in effect until 6:00 pm today.

The forecast predicts west/north-westerly squally winds with speeds ranging between 45-60 kph, affecting areas including Rangpur, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Tangail, Cumilla, Noakhali, Barishal, and Sylhet.

The BMD advisory urges authorities at river ports in these regions to take necessary precautions against adverse weather conditions.
