The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers in several parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting Sunday (May 18) morning.

Rain with lightning and gusty winds is likely in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions, and at isolated places in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram. 

Heavy rainfall may occur in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.

A low-pressure trough lies from West Bengal to the North Bay, and a mild heat wave over Khulna and Bandarban may subside.

Saturday's highest temperature was 36.8°C in Jashore, and the lowest today was 21.0°C in Sylhet. 

Rangamati recorded the highest rainfall at 121 mm.

Today's sunset is at 06-35 PM and tomorrow's sunrise 05-15 AM in the capital.
