Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman, has been withdrawn from his post.

An official from the ministry confirmed the development to Banglanews on Sunday (Sept 21), stating that the decision had been formally implemented.

However, no replacement has yet been appointed to the position.

Mokhlesur Rahman, a member of the 1982 BCS Administration cadre, was appointed as Public Administration Secretary in August 2024 following the fall of the previous fascist government during the July mass uprising. 

His appointment came at a politically sensitive time, as the new administration undertook sweeping changes across the bureaucracy.

Over the past year, the ministry has faced mounting criticism and experienced unprecedented administrative disorder. 

Controversies have emerged over postings, promotions, and appointments of key officials — including secretaries, heads of public institutions, and deputy commissioners — with allegations of mismanagement and favouritism gaining ground.
