Two killed in road crash on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway

NARAYANGANJ: Two persons were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and a truck on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Araihazar upazila Wednesday.

Police and eyewitnesses said the Dhaka-bound microbus collided head on with the goods-laden truck at Purinda at about 11:30am, killing the two, including the microbus driver on the scene.

One of the dead was identified as Sobhan,42. The identity of another, aged about 35, could not be known immediately.

Three of the wounded were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-charge of Araihazar thana said police recovered the bodies and sent to Narayanganj Hospital for postmortem.
