CHITTAGONG: Chittagong City Corporation’s newly elected mayor M Manjur Alam will take oath on Sunday.
 
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will administer the oath at her office at 10am.   

After taking oath, Manjur will visit the grave of BNP’s late President Ziaur Rahman at 4pm, according to his schedule.

He is also likely to meet BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in the evening.

The opposition leader has been invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony, LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam told journalists.   

Ashraful will administer the oath of newly elected 55 ward councilors of CCC at LGED Auditorium on the same day.

Chittagong City BNP-backed M Manjur Alam clinched as mayor defeating ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, three times mayor and AL- backed mayoral candidate, in Corporation’s mayoral race on 17 June.
