GOPALGANJ : Police Saturday night arrested two suspected members of a robbers gang with arms and ammunition from Chapailghat on the outskirts of the district town.

On information, a special team of police, led by additional police super Sardar Rokonuzzaman, raided Chapailghat area at about 11pm while the gang was preparing to commit robbery.

The law enforcers arrested two gang members--Miraj Biswash and Liton Sheikh-- from the scene while three others managed to flee.

They also recovered two foreign-made guns, 10 bullets, a Chinese axe and some other lethal weapons, two cell phone sets and Tk 7,892 in cash from their possessions.

Later two cases were filed in this connection.
