NARSINGDI: Power generation from Ghorashal Thermal Power station has halved after Sunday`s fire, Tamal Karmaker, Chief Engineer of the plant said.

The 950MW power station is now generating only 415MW MW, he said.      

The unit 6 of Ghorashal that generates 210-megawatt power was shut following the fire that will hamper power supply to Dhaka, Joydebpur and Ishoredi.  

A seven-member investigation committee was to inquire into the incident led by Delwar Hossain, planning development division member of PDB.

The committee was asked to submit its report within three days.
