DHAKA: The government gave seniority to 192 officers of different cadre services in a big push.

Establishment ministry Thursday issued a notification on their elevation, up to Joint Secretary level.

Among the 192 officials, 84 have been promoted to Joint Secretary and the rest to Deputy Secretary.

The notification, signed by senior assistant secretary of the Establishment Ministry Monzurul Haq, says the officers who got seniority have been upgraded from grade five to four.

“Their seniority will be effective from July 1, 2009,” the notification said about the retrospective effect since one year back.
