KUSHTIA: A head-on collision between two trucks left two dead on the Kushtia-Pabna highway near Bahalbaria Sugarcane Centre in the district on Wednesday morning.   

One of the deceased was identified as Azizul Mia, 35, the driver of one of the trucks, hailed from Avaynagar Upazila of Jessore. The other dead could not be identified.

Witnesses and police sources said a wood-laden truck from Khulna and a cloth-carrying truck from Narayanganj collided at around 5am in Bahalbaria Sugarcane Centre area, leaving the two dead on the spot.

Police sent the bodies to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.

Another person was also wounded in the violent collision and he was also sent to the General Hospital.
