RAJSHAHI: A Rajshahi court Wednesday summoned Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdus Sobhan and Registrar Professor MA Bari for contempt of court.

Rajshahi Sadar senior Judge Court issued the order as the accused did not comply with a court order.

Court sources said, Professor Dr. Aminul Haq of Agronomy and Agricultural Extension Department of the university filed a case with the court on June 21 this year against the VC and the Registrar as they did not provide him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a visit to Japan and grant him earned leave.

The judge had asked the RU authorities to provide him the NOC and grant the earned leave and inform the matter to the court within 48 days which they did not comply.
