DHAKA: A suspected drug dealer was injured in a gunfight with the elite-force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in city’s Magbazar area early Thursday, police said.

Ramna thana SI Masudur Rahman gave the identity of the injured person as Ali Azad, 35.

RAB-3 sources said that a gang of youngsters opened fire on a RAB patrol team in Magbazar’s Peyarabag area at around 1am. As the RAB anticrime-troopers “retaliated, Azad was injured and captured”.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
