Train knocks down trader to death at Malibagh

DHAKA: An elderly person was killed as a train ran over him on the Malibagh rail crossing in the city on Sunday Morning.

The deceased was identified as Chan Mian, 70, a banana vendor hailed from Karimganj in Kishorganj district.

Sub-Inspector of Government Railway Police (GRP) thana Abul Khayer told banglanews24.com.bd that the Chittagong-bound Ekata express train from Dhaka hit Chan Mian while he was crossing the rail line with bananas on his head, leaving him dead on the spot.

The dead body was sent to Dhaka medical College hospital for autopsy.

An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with the GRP thana in this connection.
