DHAKA: Two directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines were sacked Sunday, in the wake of long-running brawls in the precincts of the national flag carrier.
They are Aminul Huq, Director for Administration, and Khwaza Junayed, Director in charge of Marketing.
Biman Chairman Air Marshal (rtd.) Jamal Uddin Ahmed confirmed the action when banglanews talked to him to know about the latest developments.
However, he said Khwaza Junayed was sent into “normal retirement”.
In a major scuffling before Eid-ul-Fitr—hot on the heels of massive demonstrations in the Biman headquarters-- Khwaza Junayed was downgraded to General Manager of the cargo department of the state-run aviation company.
Asked about the causes behind the decisions, Jamal Uddin Ahmed declined to talk further on this score.
