BAGERHAT: A man was killed and 12 others injured in a clash between two groups of villagers in Ghoshgati village under Mollahat upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Anisur Rahman, 40, son of Mohammad Ali Molla of Ghoshgati village of the upazila.

Police sources said local Rizu Kha and Toru Sheikh locked into an altercation centering riding on a boat of Rizu Kha by of Taru Sheikh’s son.  

At one stage, the villagers got divided into two groups and locked into a clash, leaving 13 people injured critically.

The injured were rushed to the Upazila Health Complex where Anisur succumbed to his injuries.

Confirming the matter, Mollahat Thana Officer-in-Charge Abu Said M Khairul Anam told banglanews, “A case was filed in this connection.”
