DHAKA: At least 14 people were injured, including four bullet hit, by the supporters of an Awami League leader while trying to occupy a market at Ananda Bazar in Shahbagh area of the city.
The incident took place in the noon on Thursday led by ward no-70 former commissioner and Awami League leader Mir Samir.
Witnesses said 20-25 “terrorists” led by Samir attacked in order to occupy the market. They opened fire when locals resisted them, leaving four people bullet hit and injured 10 others.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Additional police forces were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situation.
