Full-bench hearing on writ petition on Amar Desh on July 15

DHAKA: Chamber Judge SK Sinha Tuesday fixed July 15 for a full-bench hearing on a writ petition filed on behalf of the embroiled daily Amar Desh for lifting the stay order earlier given by the same justice on the paper’s publication permission.

Acting Chairman of Amar Desh Limited Anwarul Nabi filed the petition through Barrister Mohammad Ali for vacating the order of stay issued by Justice Sinha on June 15.

The permission of publication of the Bengali daily was cancelled on June 10, and its acting editor arrested after the closure of the paper.

Attorney-General Mahbubey Alam was present at the time of filing the writ petition while additional Attorney-General Murad Raza took part in the hearing.
