Bhola fishermen’s clash hurt 11

BHOLA: At least 11 people were injured in sporadic clashes over spreading fishing nets in the Meghna River of Najhir Majhi area of the district on Tuesday morning.

Injured Zakir, 24, Rubel, 20, Nur Nahar, 20, Kalu, 26 and Yasin 30 were admitted to Bhola Sadar Hospital while rests were locally treated.

Local fishermen said that at one stage of altercation over spreading nets in the Meghna River, fellow fishermen of Ismail and Kalu Majhi locked in a clash at around 10:00m Monday, leaving four persons injured.

Following the clash, the both groups clashed with one another at around 9:00am Tuesday, leaving 11 persons injured from both the sides.

A house of fishermen was also ransacked in this connection.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhola police station Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
