CHITTAGONG: Three labourers sustained serious burn injuries as melted iron fell on them from the furnace of Shitalpur Auto Steel Mills (SASM) Limited in Sitakundu upazila of the port city early Tuesday.

The critically injured, who were identified as M Nabi, 26, M Rubel, 27 and M Tawhid 27, have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CNCH).

Nayek of CMCH police outpost M Hamid told banglanews, melted iron fell on the three labourers from the furnace while they were working there at around 4:30am, left different parts of their body burnt.

Fellow workers rushed them to hospital, he added.
