Police looking for more arms

DHAKA: Law enforcers are looking for more firearms after nabbing top terror of Rupganj, outskirts of the capital, Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan alias Mosha Member with arms on October 6 night.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhatara Thana Mohammad Ali made the disclosure the matter on Wednesday noon as they are quizzing Mosha Member on a remand.

Investigation Officer (IO) of the lawsuit Mazhar told banglanews that, acting on tip off, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 personnel arrested Mosharraf Hossain with firearms and five of his cohorts from a car near Kuril Biswaroad area of the city on October 6 night.

The cohorts are Nazrul Islam, Mokhlesur Rahman Jony, M Abdul Mannan, Tanvir Ahmed Khan and the driver Morshed.

RAB recovered a shotgun with six rounds of bullets and a 7.65 pistol with six rounds of bullets.

Sub-Inspector of RAB-1 Abdul Karim filed a case with Bhata Thana in this connection.

On June 18, Director General Forces Intelligence (DGFI) member Corporal Abu Taher filed the case against 12 persons, including Mosha Member with Gulshan Thana.

The accused were charged for assault and attempt to murder of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) personnel and snatching their mobile phones and ID cards.
