RIYADH: Following General Amnesty declared by the Government of Saudi Arabia for illegally working or residing foreigners, Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh will be opened during Eid vacation sans the Eid day.
Bangladesh ambassador to Saudi Arabia confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said that Riyadh embassy will provide special service in order to continue its services to Bangladesh nationals who need to have their documents streamlined.
The ambassador also said that Saudi administration will take actions to catch the illegal migrants from November 04 and there is no scope to extend the time.
During this period, illegally residing foreigners would be able to leave Saudi Arabia without any fine. They will be allowed to correct their status by obtaining or renewing passports and thereafter transferring ‘Iqama’ to enable them to stay in the Kingdom for work without facing any penalty.
He also said, “Embassy officials visited different cities of Saudi Arabia in every week to provide the service to migrant Bangladeshi nationals. They are providing such types of services –renew the passport of Bangladeshis, issue the new passport, out pass (special travel documents).
After declaring general amnesty, Bangladesh consulate has provided services to 7:15 Bangladeshis, embassy sources said.
