DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Saturday sent singer Arfin Rumi to jail in a women and children repression case filed by his wife first Ananya.

Metropolitan Magistrate Atikur Rahman passed the order after hearing on the case.

The court also sent his brother Yasin Rony to jail in the same order.

Earlier, police arrested Rumi early Saturday from his Mohammadpur residence.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur Thana Azizul Haq said Rumi beat Ananya severely on Friday and later she filed a case against Rumi.
