NOAKHALI: Two ‘robbers’ were killed and another one injured in a mob beating in Datterhat Bazar area under Sadar upazila of the district early Monday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Police sources said mosque-going people sensed the presence of dacoits while they were preparing for robbery in the area and they chased them.

At one stage, the angry mob caught three dacoits and beat them black and blue, leaving all three injured critically.

On information, police rescued the robbers and rushed them to Noakhali General Hospital where on duty doctors declared two of them dead.+
