PM seeks vote at Gazipur rally

GAZIPUR:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, on Thursday asked the people of the city to cast vote for her party to complete the unfinished works of her government.

“I hope you will cast vote again for the Awami League like last parliament to complete our unfinished works,” she said.  

The premier came up with the plea while addressing a rally organized by city Awami League at Bhawal Badre Alam University College Ground.

The premier also claimed: “When the 18-party alliance assumes power, the militants are organized in the area.”

Sheikh Hasina also urged Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia not to call any hartal during the Junior Secondary Certificate (JSC) examination.

Earlier in the day, she laid the foundation stone of the much- hyped metro rail project titled “The MRT Line-6 under the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Development Project” from Bhawal Badre Alam University College Ground here this afternoon.

The 20.1-kilometer Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-6 will run from Uttara Third Phase and pass through Pallabi, the west side of Rokeya Sarani and Farmgate, Hotel Sonargaon, Ruposhi Bangla, TSC of Dhaka University, Doel Chattar, Topkhana Road and Bangladesh Bank.
