COX’S BAZAR: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested 48 people on Thursday night while they were trying to go to Malaysia illegally through sea route.

Acting Commanding officer of BGB-42 Battalion of Teknaf Major Shafiqur Rahman told banglanews, ”Amongst the detainees, eight were held from Damdamia BGB check post.”

Besides, a team of RAB-7 held 40 Malaysia-bound people from Cox’s Bazar bus terminal.

Earlier on Thursday morning, 10 others Malaysia-bound people were detained in Ukhia upazila of the district.
