The Dhaka University (DU) unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has announced new convening committees for 18 residential halls of the university.

DU JCD President Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahos and General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon approved the committees on Friday.

Among the major line-ups, Md Zahidul Islam has been named convener of the 51-member Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall committee, with Rizvi Alam as senior joint convener and Zubayer Hossain as member secretary. Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim will lead the 43-member Kabi Jasimuddin Hall unit, while Monowar Hossain Pranto will head the 47-member Masterda Surya Sen Hall committee.

The 54-member Bijoy Ekattor Hall unit will be led by Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed, and an identical 54-member committee has been formed for Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall under Saif Al Islam Deep. The largest committee, at Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall, consists of 61 members with Abu Zar Gifari Ifat as convener.

In female dormitories, Mst. Sraboni Akter will head the eight-member Rokeya Hall unit, Tayeba Hasan Bithi the five-member Shamsun Nahar Hall, and Maliha Binte Khan (Avanti) the four-member Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall committee. Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall and Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall have also announced new leadership.
