The government has directed law enforcement agencies to take action against a recent rally staged by the Awami League, whose political activities have been banned.
The instruction was announced on Sunday (September 7) at a briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka, where Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the decision.
According to him, the Chief Adviser convened a meeting with his advisers at the state guesthouse Jamuna, attended by ten members of the advisory council.
The discussion included the Awami League’s recent rally, which was deemed a violation of the ban, Shafiqul Alam said, adding that a decision was made to instruct security forces to respond accordingly.
