Ashraf slams Jamaat-e-Islami

DHAKA: Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam termed Jamaat-e-Islami outfit as accomplice of several international militant organizations.

The minister came to this assertion while addressing a documentary unveil ceremony on violence carried out by the BNP-Jamaat during the last Awami League-government regime and ahead of the January 5 national election across the country.

The program was organized by Awami League’s publication cell.

Ashraful said Jamaat’s accomplices, different international militant organizations, declared war against the world. They may come here soon. So, none is safe from their attack.

He added: “We have started movement against the militant groups. Those active everywhere in the world in name of Al Queda, Taliban, and IS and here Jamaat.”

“Those people are enemy of humanity. So, we should resist them and won against them,” he added.

Citing about the DVD, he said this video is a copy of the violence occurred by BNP-Jamaat.

The minister urged journalists, lawyers, intellectuals and other media persons to take step with their writings, videos and other cultural equipments against the terrorism.

With AL publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Barrister Tureen Afroz, SM Rezaul Karim and Rokeya Kabir.
