DHAKA: Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday categorically said from now on none would be allowed to hold rallies, meetings or processions at anywhere in the city except Suhrawardy Udyan.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with assertion while talking to journalists during visiting Gabtoli Bus Terminal.

The government would fix four spots to hold different political programs at Suhrawardy Udyan, the newsmen were told.

He said the government has already taken the decision to let city people getting rid of traffic jam.

He added: “We are planning to ban rallies at anywhere in Dhaka on Friday and Saturday. The proposal will be placed before the prime minister soon.”
