DHAKA: Citing a survey carried out by a US-based research body, Sajeeb Wazed Joy said his mother prime minister Sheikh Hasina is more popular in Bangladesh than former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
Prime Minister son also her ICT adviser Joy made the claim on a post uploaded on his Facebook page early Sunday (April 29).
He shared link of an article published on a research website named Centre for Research and Information (CRI) and gave the caption as mentioned below:
“According to a series of focus group discussions (FGDs) conducted by the Washington-based International Republic Institute (IRI), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her party Bangladesh Awami League are clearly more popular among the electorate than Khaleda Zia and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)”.
However, CRI conducts detailed research on national development issues and undertakes in-depth case studies in sectors of national economy, says the website in its ‘about’.
A key aim of CRI is to encourage and strengthen democratic process in Bangladesh, it also says about its one of the objectives.
