DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has warned that Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the party, will not be run by any types of syndicate.
Adding that the student organization will be run strictly by party chairperson Sheikh Hasina’s directives and Bangabandhu’s ideals, he said only qualified people will be placed on leading positions.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks while addressing BCL conference in Dhaka University TSC on Sunday noon (April 29).
Mentioning the leaders who recently left BCL, Quader said, “You are leader now. Please think about how the new comers will remember you as you leave. They won’t value you a bit if you have become a leader only by and for the money. No one will remember you. After you leave, only best workers will stay in BCL.”
BCL president Saifur Rahman Sohag inaugurated the conference while DU BCL unit president Abid Al Hasan presided over it. AL joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak and organizing secretary Enamul Huq Shamim were chief guest at the conference moderated by DU BCL unit general secretary Motahar Hossain Prince.
