DHAKA: Police detained 16 BNP leaders and activists including its Dhaka Metropolitan unit acting secretary general Habibur Rashid Habib from Rupyan Tower in city’s Bangla Motor area on Sunday afternoon (April 29).

The detainees are- Senior Vice President of BNP Dhaka South Zone M Shamsul Huda, Acting Secretary General Habibur Rashid Habib, Vice President Md. Yunus Mridha, Golam Hossain, Joint Secretary General KM Jobair Ejaz, Alamgir Hossain, Advocate Farukul Islam, Organizing Secretary Saiful Islam Patu, Commissioner Rafiqul Islam Russel, Vice-General Secretary Jamilur Rahman Nayan and others. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ramna zone DC Maruf Hossain said, being tipped off police conducted the drive in the building and detained them while they were holding a secret meeting. Legal action will be taken against them.
