DHAKA: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said ruling Awami League leaders are mocking, ridiculing and neglecting the physical illness of the party chief Khaleda Zia.

Terming AL as an anti-democratic party, Rizvi added that human life, dignity and suffering have no value to this autocratic ruling party. 

The senior BNP leader made the allegation at a press conference in party’s Naya Paltan central office on Monday morning (April 30).

Criticizing AL general secretary Obaidul Quader’s remarks on Khaleda, Rizvi said his leader landed in jail not because of court but for the vengeance of AL chairperson Sheikh Hasina. Everyone knows it and the judiciary just made it official. 

Claiming that the government is intentionally stalling Khaleda’s treatment, Rizvi demanded the immediate release of Khaleda Zia and admitting her to United Hospital. 

The BNP leader also claimed that the government is detaining BNP leaders and activists in a mass scale ahead of the Gazipur and Khulna City polls. It is a message to spread fear among BNP men across the country.
